Biography
Emma Michaud is a classically-trained violist in the greater Boston area. She is an experienced performer, and frequently plays in concerts all around New England. In recent past, she has performed with the New England film Orchestra, the Firebird pops orchestra, and the University of New Hampshire University Orchestra. Emma currently plays with the New Hampshire Philharmonic, under the baton of Mark Latham. She also holds the position of principal violist in the University Orchestra of UMass Lowell under the baton of Nicole Parks. Emma is also well-versed in chamber music, playing in various duos, trios and quartets around the greater Boston area. Although Emma usually plays classical viola, she was also featured in the UMass Lowell Radiohead ensemble, in which she plays in a quartet on a recreation of the Radiohead album “In Rainbows”.
Over the years, Emma has studied with several private instructors, such as Dr. Carolyn Cardella, Robin Mallory, Mark Latham, and Alexander Vavilov. She currently studies with Nicole Parks, and is pursuing her Bachelors of Music in Music performance at the University of Massachusetts Lowell, in Lowell Massachusetts.
In her time outside of educating, performing and practicing, Emma can be found reading and drawing. She holds a great passion for the visual arts, and loves visiting museums and galleries around the country.
